Argh.

I don't use the word "hate" often, but one thing I do hate is when you know you have the power to do good or do better but there are people and things holding you back. It is such a discouraging and frustrating feeling.

I was recently asked to join a committee and because I wasn't around when the committee was formed, many things have already been planned and in my opinion, planned very poorly. I have so many ideas and suggestions but I feel that some of the existing members don't want to disturb what's already been established/decided, closing their minds off to fresh ideas, possibly better ideas, most of which comply with the current industry standards as opposed to what they've been doing so far, making up by consensus.

It's 12:23AM

And I'm sitting waiting for Mr.S to come home so I can take a shower post-work out. The boys are sleeping soundly and I have a slim and slimmer period of time during which I can do this before the baby wakes up for a snack. All I can think of are things like this:

Ice cream and crepes
Short hair and sunglasses
Sour cream and ______ hair ***EDIT!!!*** CHIPS! I meant chips!!
Anvil shoes
Long, wavy, ombre-dyed hair
Dirty sweaty salty dri-fit shirts
Love handles and stretchy skin
Laser hair removal

I need to take a shower already. I need to have better thoughts. Cue key in the door.

P.S. Mr.S actually came through the door half a second after I hit "Publish". Neat, eh? And this was the second time I wrote this post because the first time I wrote it, it got erased when I published it. Neat again, eh?

LINSANITY

I'm Asian, so I'm almost obligated to post about this. But how funny is it that we (or you, I can't say I'm a completely real fan) Toronto Raptors fans, namely, we Asian Toronto Raptors fans, are so starved for a win, we react like this? Also, it helps that Jeremy Lin's pretty awesome. Awesome enough for me to care to ask Mr.S, "Okay, what's the deal with Jeremy Lin?", because I actually had no idea.

Yes, I am completely coming out of the closet and confessing that I'm not really an NBA fan anymore because I prefer our quality time spent doing other things than oogling the TV during a basketball game. I mean, really, what wife really wants to spend time with their husband's mistress?

I have been fooling people all over the GTA. Apparently, in various areas of the city, I look like someone...and they do a double take when they see I'm pregnant, and then a triple take when they realize that I'm not the person they thought I was. Between the double take and the triple take, I've even gotten an, "OH! MY! GOD! I can't believe it!"...shortly followed by, "Oh sorry, I thought you were someone else." One guy even stopped to stare at me while he was pouring my soup order into my bowl and when I had a puzzled look on my face, followed by his puzzled look, I got the line again, "Oh sorry, I thought you were someone else."

I feel sorry for the poor women who have this same nose.

Just kidding.

Daring dresses

Lea Michele wore this last night at the Golden Globes. I found myself staring at it in wonder. Maybe because I couldn't figure out how these dresses conceal nipples so neatly or something, who knows? I then found myself wondering if I could ever wear such a dress that covers, but doesn't really cover. Halle Berry's Oscar dress was the same idea. Do you have to get this custom-made? Probably, right? I mean, not everyone's nipples are located in the same spot!

I wonder if I'll ever get a chance to wear a fancy dress, or even one like this. I'd probably only have the balls to wear it in the house...alone...in the bathroom...maybe in the dark.

He always did give me the creeps

The Office has a new boss. He gives me the creeps, and that's not just his character on The Office. I think he's been giving me the creeps since Pretty in Pink. Luckily he won't be on every episode since he's the new Kathy Bates on the show. I will say, though, that his interaction with other characters on the show is quite entertaining.

Lunch time

Going out for lunch when I don't bring any gets really expensive. I don't even want to think about how much I spend in a month on eating out. I don't drink lattes, but that, right there, is my Latte Factor. Yuck.

So, as an alternative, as many people do, we resort to frozen lunches. It's quite a challenge to find a really good one that, well, doesn't taste like a frozen lunch.

Enter President's Choice. They have some pretty good frozen lunches for anywhere from $2 to $5. MUCH cheaper than that fast food crap you get at the food court downstairs, or down the street, or wherever (they're really not that cheap anymore, are they?).

This one is really good.
