Back to Life
I have to say, I've been just as excited for this with her and she was with me for Jaye's and my wedding. August has never looked so exciting!
I saw her yesterday and it seemed she was having a rough day, but in my mind, I found myself chuckling because what kind of last-week-of-a-screwy-job would it be without some I-hate-my-job!-moments? It's just another challenge, which at the end of, she'll be laughing because she got through it fair and square.
I'm so proud of her. :)
Crocophile
What I do love are the other styles of Crocs.
Par exemple:
My sister got these ones and when she told me about them, I had to get a pair. I looked all over and found a SIZE 4 which fits perfectly and that's the smallest size they come in for women's Crocs. BONUS!
They were my first pair of Crocs and I love them, and even now, several years later, I still have them and they're still black!
These, I saw in Japan last year and freaked because everyone knows I need the height but haven't had the comfort...and hey, they're not ugly either. So of course, I bought them, and I swear by them...
I wore them at our wedding reception and even though they didn't match, they sure were comfortable! I just wish I had them on earlier in the day! (They did, however, make an appearance in the "carry over the threshold" picture. Oops!)
I got these in Hawai'i. Jaye actually saw them a while back and thought I'd like them, but since then, he's only been able to describe them to me as "strappy Crocs" and we never saw them. So, when I was going to look for the shoes below that I also saw in Hawai'i, I stumbled across these (they didn't have the shoes below in the store I was at) and thought they looked like a "me shoe". They're really comfortable!
I'm in the market for these. I saw them at a Crocs kiosk in Honolulu and by the time I decided I wanted them, it was already the day of our departure for home and they were in no other place but that kiosk (which wasn't too close to our "home"). If you find them, let me know!
How I love Jemaine

Married life
My sister and I talked about it a bit today and well, so far, so good. Jaye and I have decided that our marriage officially started on Saturday afternoon, after we touched down on Toronto pavement.
Since then, we've still been running around, but it's a different kind of feeling. Marriage is running around so far.
Around the outtings and going to work, we've been trying to find time to clean our house. It's littered with boxes of STUFF. We have wedding gifts to put away, boxes of stuff from the wedding that need to find regular homes, boxes of stuff from before the wedding that were never put away, boxes of stuff that weren't unpacked from the move, now-empty luggage, laundry...and, as you can imagine, there isn't much space to walk. And today, we have more stuff to pick up that people bought us from our registry.
Usually, I'm excited to clean, but right now, I don't seem to have the energy nor the patience. This kind of mess doesn't excite me; instead it overwhelms and consumes me. I think I need to be put in a CHALLENGE state of mind.
The mornings so far though, have been a challenge. We've woken up late every morning so far (that's 3 days) and have rushed to get ready for work in very little time. I'd like to call it "jetlag" but I'm not sure that's what it is!
All in all though, everything's peachy. I finally get to cook tonight, which will be the first time in a LONG time, and not only that, I'm cooking Filipino food, which we've been deprived of for a few weeks now.
To really answer the question, "What is married life like so far?", it's fun. Really, that's it in a word.
Everything people have been telling us about how hard or annoying it'll be to get used to each others' daily habits, we've been laughing about. And with this new good habit of mine, looking for the lesson in everything possible, I'm finding I'm learning a lot of valuable things about Jaye, and not only that, I'm embracing them.
One big thing that's different though is the way I see Jaye. When we started going out, I looked at him differently from when I just saw him as the boy at school and church I had a crush on. Now, he's a whole different person again, and it started the moment I saw him on our wedding day at the ceremony.
To be honest, we saw each other before the ceremony. Yeah, I know, the superstitious would say it's bad luck, but really, we don't believe in that stuff (look at us! j/k). We each went to confession that morning and we tried to miss each other, but we didn't. (I never froze so quickly in a church before, but anyway....) I didn't feel the change then, but I felt it right away when I was walking down the aisle.
This man is now my husband.
I look at him now and know that he's not going anywhere. I knew that already before, but there's a difference in how it feels now. And at the end of the day, he doesn't have to go home because he is home. I wake up in the morning and he's there and he will be there almost every morning for the rest of our lives. Again, I knew all of this before, but there's a huge difference when you're actually living it.
And another thing -- "Good morning, my wife" is a great start to my day.
